Ashe County Habitat for Humanity

Building Hope in Ashe County
One House at a Time

Mission Statement:
Ashe County Habitat for Humanity is a non-profit organization that works in partnership with the people of Ashe County to eliminate substandard housing by building safe, affordable, decent housing for families in need.

Ashe County Habitat for Humanity ( ACHFH ) became an affiliate of Habitat for Humanity International in October, 2008 . Since then our focus has been on raising community awareness about our organization and raising funds to build our first house.  Construction of our first house has started and we plan to start our second house in 2012.  Ashe County Habitat is incorporating "green technologies" in our homes to reduce energy costs and to foster good environmental stewardship in the community.

US Department of Health and Human Services statistics report that 15.8 % of the residents of Ashe County live below the poverty level. There is a definite need for affordable housing in our county and it is Ashe County Habitat for Humanity’s goal to address that need. Habitat offers a hand up, not a hand out.

ACHFH is a 100% volunteer organization.  If you are interested in helping with any of our various committees please check out the "Get Involved" link on our website for further information on volunteering.
