Lower Level Poured!

Today we were blessed with perfect weather for the pumping of concrete into our formed walls. The job was flawless as five of our regular building team troweled the top of the walls and fine tuned the wall adjustments to insure they stayed straight and plumb before the concrete set.

It is always a little hairy when you have a nine foot wall filled with liquid concrete. There is a sigh of relief in about three hours when the walls are completely rigid. It takes about seven days for the concrete to achieve working strength and twenty eight days to reach design strength. The curing process, however, goes on for years.

Our thanks go out to our building team, Watauga Concrete Finishers, and Virginia Carolina Concrete for a great job.
