Steady Progress

Updated: Nov 26, 2021

November 6th marked the ninth workday on the job site. Even if you add a few more weekdays manned by our retired volunteers, the pace is not only steady but sensational. Our volunteers are both talented and dedicated. The results of their efforts are readily evident.

We adjusted the floor level on the top level, installed the first row of ICFs on the main floor, prepared and covered the slab area with washed stone and finished the footer drain with pipe, stone and filter cloth.

On November 13th, we will backfill the foundation as soon as we have an inspection, prepare our basement for concrete, and add a ledger for the side porch.

Thanks to Jane and Charles for preparing a hearty hot lunch for us.

If you can make it, please come and join us this week. We work from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM. No tools are needed and lunch is provided. You must be 17 to work in construction at the site. The home is located in Jefferson off Highway 88. From Jefferson take West Main (Highway 88) to McFarland Publishing. Turn right on Hickory Hill Road and a left on West Hickory Hill. The site is over the top of the hill.
